My Story

What is one thing about your work that most people don't know?

The one thing that people don't know about my job is how I cannot 'turn it off.' As a 30 year educator, I think about my students before I get to school, when I'm there and I take them home with me. I re-evaluate what I contributed to their day and did I make a difference:academically, socially and/or emotionally. Good teachers do this all day long.

What makes you most proud of the work you do?

I love the fact I get the privilege of working with families. They share with me their fears, joys and hopes when working with their child. I have learned about different cultures, different religions and different family rhythms that have enhanced my teaching skills immensely.
